SCAD Figure Drawing - Week 8

Ah, the final week. *sniffle.* We had a male model today, so that's always interesting. We did four, half-hour drawings where we basically started with cylinders, then filled in the form from there. They seem to have turned out fairly well, and the instructor, Ben Smith, praised them. These figure drawing classes have been a phenomenal experience, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone...you know, if anyone were to ask me such a thing.

SCAD Figure Drawing - Week 7

So...much slower pace in today's class. We only did two (2) drawings. Five-step process, including armature, adding shapes to create form, flat shading, blending the shading, then hatching. I believe they were both 45+ minute poses. They turned out okay, but I think I prefer the quicker stuff.

SCAD Figure Drawing - Week 6

Gesture week! We basically did a bunch of four-minute, two-minute, and even one-minute gesture drawings today. Over 30 drawings in all! Zowie! Good model, good day! :)

SCAD Figure Drawing - Week 5

The final half of my figure drawing classes. Today, we did some continuous line gestures and then some contour hatching. The model struck some great poses, but I feel like all of my drawings are over-done. Guess I just don't work well with this style.
