Don't Turn Your Back on Taylor Swift

So, I was working on some homework where I had to draw five clothed, full-figure females. Naturally, I gathered my Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift photo collection and started drawing. These were done on 18 x 24" newsprint with compressed charcoal:

I know...this page is right from my dreams. I thought the Taylor drawing (right) turned out rather well, so I decided to color it in using Photoshop:
That was sure fun, but now I have to get back to my "actual" schoolwork. *sigh.*

Clothed Figure Drawing - Week 1

Here are the first week's drawings from my ILL 610 - Clothed Figure Drawing class. Let me say that this is the single worst model I have ever had. Breaking a pose due to your body giving out is one thing, but breaking it to change the song on your iPod? Not cool. Also, I tried using compressed charcoal, which is apparently not my best medium--hard for me to keep things light...

Long Time, No Post

It's been a long while since I've posted anything here. I am now [pretty much] settled in here at the Academy of Art University in lovely San Francisco, California. Classes have started and are going well. I'll do my best to post as much of my school work as I can. I'm in three traditional drawing classes, so I shouldn't be short on work to display.

The Terminology Journal

So, I've been busy with the two online classes from the Academy of Art University. Almost done. The final project for my "Crossing Borders" class was to create a Terminology Journal using 15 of the major terms we've learned over the course of the class. We had to illustrate each term in some way and then put them all together in book form. Below are the pages to my book:

The iMac

It's been a long, long time since I've posted anything. I had to miss my last two Figure Drawing classes due to a Taylor Swift concert and a trip to San Francisco and to Minnesota. My cousin graduated from college!! Good for her! And San Francisco is truly beautiful; it will be a real adventure to live there for a few years. Oh, and I did get accepted into the Masters program at The Academy of Art University studying Animation & Visual Effects!!! :) So, that's why I haven't posted anything. Busy getting all that together, planning the move to SF, and now my summer Online classes have started. Lots of stuff going on. BUT, I did find time to get myself a new computer...and not just any computer--I got an iMac! Here are some pictures I took as I opened and began to enjoy:

It's a 24 incher. Wireless keyboard and mouse. Plus, it came with a free iPod Touch!! I was originally looking at Macbook laptops, but this was actually cheaper and...it just looks cool. Still playing around and discovering stuff. Just need to figure out how I'm going to get it out to San Francisco...
